Falling Behind :(

Question Posted Sunday March 4 2007, 10:59 pm

I recently went back to school after missing over a week for mono. Im falling really far behind in almost all of my classes, and im really worried. My teachers have been lenient and have given me time for makeup work, but its just not enough. I have to much work and not enough time. Im losing sleep because of the workload and as a result of this, im not getting any better sick wise. I have the flu now and just cant seem to get this work done. I thought about skipping a day of school to catch up on things but I cant miss any more days of school without getting points deducted from my grades for it. How can I manage the workload and still get sleep and not be so stressed out?

hey, alright well being sick and trying to get all of that done doesnt mix. you need to go to each of your teachers and maybe ask if you can stay after for extra help. set aside 2-4 hours a day for makeup work at home. maybe even when your with the teachers for after school help you can ask them to assist you on the homework. if your going to take another day off, i would have a friend go to your locker and get the books you need for that day. also tell them to give you the assignments, so your not that far behind.

I'd yell "Time Management" and do a cheer over it - but I happen to be a Master Procrastinator, so...=)

Ask for help from your friends and stuff. I'd personally help you if you need help with research, h.w., whatever (university students can NEVER be too busy). It looks like you really care about your grades and all...so do what you think is gonna help you get rid of the extra load of work and make you get back on track with no bags under your eyes.

I was serious about the help thing though - if you need help of any sort, I'd be more than glad to help you. (check my column for my email and contact moi).

Best of luck
Kay.

start blocking off your time. set a schedule for yourself... for example, let's just say that you want to go to bed at 8:00 and you get home from school at 4:00 (i know this is farfetched). that gives you four hours to get your stuff done, and you have time to sleep. of course, you also have to make time to eat. but if i were you, do the most important homework first! if you're not doing so great in a certain class, do that homework first. i know this will make me sound like a horrible person, but if you have homework and you know how to do it and it just takes up time, get somebody else to do it for you or copy their answers. seriously. and then repay them somehow later. just don't skip another day of school because you will get further behind. make sure you take vitamins and drink lots of fluids so you can get better. this next weekend, try to get some sleep! i hope you start feeling better :)
