laundry uh-oh.

Question Posted Sunday March 4 2007, 8:28 pm

to make a long story short, there was a red article of clothing in the white load of laundry, which was washed on the warm or hot cycle. thus, the white clothes turned somewhat pink. one of my faovrite all-white shirts and an all white tank top were in there, and i was wondering how i could get them white again? bleach, or just try to wash them a few times again?

This has happened to me. No fear! It's easily fixable. Just use bleach (like Clorox bleach). Also, do a pre-soak if you can (with bleach), or put it on heavy cycle (if that makes sense).

Also, if anything similar such as colors turns to a different color. There are fabric dyes available to change it back to its similar color. That is a common laundry problem, as well. And it happens!

Just be careful next time. When washing whites, do not mix it with color fabrics. You probably did it accidentally, so just give the bleach a try! =]

that happened to me when I was 12. I turned my dads underwear pink. Was he ever mad. If you haven't yet put them in the dryer you can try washing them again using bleach by themselves with no other clothes in washer. however I don't think it will ever be all white in there original condition again.
seperate clothes before washing. The whites by themselves. The brights(like sheets and towels) by themselves. I wash black clothes by themselves. Wash jeans by themselves.
I'm sure you'll never make this mistake again.
