ANG answered Saturday March 17 2007, 4:48 pm: they have to buy your ticket. actually anyone 17 years or older can buy an r rated movie ticket for you. your parents dont have to go in, that is unless they want to, hah.

advice_expert101 answered Wednesday February 28 2007, 9:59 pm: i think they have to actually stay in with them.. unless you sneak in .. but i would recommend that because if you get caught you could get in some trouble. if you not sure just look it up on google or on a movie website. ..
you could always ask your parent (if your going with friends or w.e.) if they could sit on the other side of the theatre. also..... .. like maybe have someone whos like 18 go to the movies with you instead because then there considered adults.
hope i helped [ advice_expert101's advice column | Ask advice_expert101 A Question ]
VainTaraLynn answered Wednesday February 28 2007, 9:56 pm: Well whenever me and my friends went into an R rated movie, one of our parents went with us and, in the theatres around here, they didnt have to go in. They would just go to the window and flash their ID to prove that they are over 18, and then get the tickets for us and we'd go in and see the movie.
Other movie theatres may be different.
Also some theatres allow notes written from the parent, and they show them the note and they validate it by writing their signature on it so if someone comes up to you in the theatre, they know that youre allowed to be there [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]
