Question Posted Wednesday February 28 2007, 7:06 pm
i am very athletic and basically a health freak when it comes to eating...i am also a vegetarian.
i have two questions..
#1 how much water is healthy to drink within certain time frame? lets say 6 hours or so..
#2 is the amount of water i drink too much and if it is how can it hurt me?
i drink 92 ounces of water within a 6 hour period and i drink 138 ounces within 12 hours.
If your urine is almost clear, you're hydrated, it's okay to take it easy and drink a little less. Generally you shouldn't need more than 6-8 ounces an hour to stay hydrated unless it's really super hot out. Some trainers recommend that you weigh yourself before and after you work out... you should lose a few pounds of water weight through sweat. If you don't, your body is having trouble dealing with the amount of water you're taking on and you should cut back. [ spacefem's advice column | Ask spacefem A Question ]

I think that 92 ounces is ok if you are athletic and active. Dont drink too much because it can make you sick! Recently...someone died because they drank too much water!
