i have some pictures on my computer that i was to get rid of completly. i deleted them and then emptied my recycle bin. does that mean there completly gone? if not how do i delete them?
VainTaraLynn answered Tuesday February 27 2007, 11:16 pm: Nothing that you delete from your computer can ever really be destroyed or deleted off your hard disk unless you throw it into an incinerator. However. Deleting them manually and emptying your recycle bin will prevent anyone from recovering them unless they are the FBI or a computer specialist and know how to recover deleted images off a hard drive. But assuming youre not going to encounter those people any time soon, youll be fine [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]

install it. Run it and scan your main disk. Most of the files it finds will be junk; old system and temp files. Find the one you want and check the box to the left. Press recover. If you're lucky, the file will be where you save it, intact. If it's been more than a few days, the file will probably be corrupted; if it's a text file it will have missing text, if its an image or video, parts will be missing. Sometimes it won't even run. In that case, you'd have to take the computer to a recovery specialist, and that costs big bucks. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
