These changes should be a permanent lifestyle change. You don't have to eliminate junk entirely. Moderation is key- I don't know how many times I've told people that. If you deprive yourself completely, you're eventually going to snap. You'll find the nearest bag of family size Doritos and eat the whole thing- not good. Eat a small handful on occasion, as a treat. And don't kick yourself afterwards, k? Like I said, its okay to eat junk sometimes. Just don't live on a diet of Twinkies, Coke, and Snickers, you know?
As for a workout, try adding some running or walking to your daily routine. You'll see a significant improvement in how you look AND feel about yourself.
Lastly, don't be a slave to the scale, like I was. Your weight may not change right away, but your size will. Use a tape measure (I use my mom's sewing one, since it's super bendy) and measure your waist and hips about once a week or so. Don't weigh yourself sixteen times a day either. A couple times a week is sufficent. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]

Alin75 answered Monday February 26 2007, 5:13 pm: Training your abs is ok, but the more muscles you involve the better. Rather than 200 situps work in some cardio and/or a combination of exercises (push ups, pull ups, squats etc). Ab workouts are not particularly good calorie burners.
Irrespective of what you cut out, and how much exercise you do, the weight you lose will depend on the difference between what you eat and what you burn. You can easily gain weight eating too much health food. Easily.
However, if you do things right, and you eat healthy small frequent meals, and create a moderate calorie deficiency, then you should be able to do 2 pounds a week. Any more is not healthy (and probably would include muscle, which you dont want to lose). So, in 25 days, thats about 7 pounds. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
bLue_in_tHe_faCe answered Monday February 26 2007, 5:03 pm: I do this cuting out that bad stuff is good for you, but just because you do situps doesnt mean you'll loose weight. It will build up your muscle, and muscle weights more than fat. If you want to loose weight, cut out bad junk and jog for 20 minutes a day. Hope this helped [ bLue_in_tHe_faCe's advice column | Ask bLue_in_tHe_faCe A Question ]
