Darling, You're going about this all wrong.
Get a pen and paper. and list everything that is suspicious. and I don't mean things like "he spends time talking to a lot of people on the phone"
If you do come up with a significant list, talk to him to his face. tell him that you're concerned and why. If he's mature enough to talk to you directly about your thoughts, then He's a keeper.
but Going behind his back will destroy his trust and he wont want you. You'd be out of his life like yesterday's newspaper.

What lead you to think that he was cheating on you? I doubt you can have his texts sent to you, but you could always check his cell phone when he's not around. But then again, a relationship with no trust & no honesty might as well not even exist since it's not really a relationship anyway. Talk to him & ask him straight out. He might get mad because you know "MY GIRLFRIEND TOTALLY JUST ACCUSED ME OF CHEATING." but, you have the right to know, and if he is or he completely denies it & you find out otherwise, drop him like a bad habit.

You could also try asking him directly, without going behind his back, invading his privacy, and destroying his trust.

Because there's always the chance he's not cheating on you and you'll be the bad guy, not him.

Ways you could approach the subject would be something like "hey can I see your phone? I need to text someone" and if he objects strongly, ask why.
