Last summer I noticed that my body tanned really nicely, but my face was still pretty pale. My mom said that she had the same problem when she was a little older than me for a few years. I hate it though does anyone know why this happens? I don't want to have to wear makeup to feel good about it, especially in the summer when I will probably swim a lot. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

It could be genetics..sounds weird but if your mom couldn't tan her face easily, she could've passed it on to you. Keep wearing sunscreen though because if you don't you'll get bad sunburns that sting, leave scars & scabs, then peel off, & turn into wrinkles so you look older. Disgusting process, I know! OK well this solution is kind of like makup but different...
I found the lotion at Bath & Body works & it's like magic! A special tanning lotion, self tanner kind of thing. You put it on every morning for like a week and there are HUGE results, but what I'm doing right now, is I'm only applying it on the palm of my hand to see how it looks at the end of the week & to see if it blends well with my skin color, so you might wanna try that too. It's called True Blue Spa glow and steady daily moisturizer. You apply it ever day for a week and see how it works. Good luck! [ Depressed_Poet's advice column | Ask Depressed_Poet A Question ]
ohxthexdrama answered Monday February 19 2007, 9:24 pm: what the other person said is good just make sure you usean oil that wont clog your pores. probably something specifically for your face is good.
and also, never tan with makeup on. the makeup actually prevents you from getting a tan and it a tan does come on when you're wearing makeup, it will probably be uneven.
advice_expert101 answered Monday February 19 2007, 9:14 pm: try using sun tanning oil on your face while you use sun tan lotion or sun block (same thing) on your body. sun tanning oil makes you even tanner so then theres a good chance of getting tanner on your face then you did last year. also try some tanning lotioain like...something that says like.. gradual tan sunless tanning because it wont be so ovoius when you put it on because you just over time add it on.
hope i helped.
