sugar addict

Question Posted Thursday February 15 2007, 8:41 pm

I eat way too much sugar in my diet, and I want to start cutting back. I do pretty well, but then I get the worst cravings and I eat a bunch of sugary food. What is the best way to make these cravings back down, and how can I lower my sugar intake more easily?

Try to start replacing sugary sweets with a sweet fruit, such as a peach. You will feed that sweet tooth and be eating something good for you.

I seriously had the same problem except it was with caffeine. It still is a bit hard for me today, but it's a slow process that takes patience.

First, don't just one day completely cut out on sugar. It can actually affect your emotionally, by blocking the "happy hormones". Seriously, I learned that on the Discovery Channel. Weird but true unfortunately.

So first off, slowly but gently try cutting out some sugar, and switch to alternative sugars, such as the famous "Splenda". It takes almost like sugar and it isn't as unhealthy as the standard sugar. Using alternative sweeteners makes a big difference.

It's like trying to cut down from alcohol. It does take time, and doing it rapidly can surprisingly affect your moods and overall behavior. So take it slowly. If you get the urge to eat a sugary food, try switching to something naturally sweet, like fruit.

I know that advice was brief but hopefully I helped =].

The best thing to do is get rid of all the sugar products in your house so you do not get as many cravings. && when you get cravings to eating an apple or something healthy. Apples have alot of natural sugar in them so they will give you alot of energy to do the things you need to do. When you eat like cake sugar it gives you energy for a little while and then it slows you down. But with natural sugar you keep going and going like the energizer Bunny :D hope this helped
