Document locked?

I opened up a word document just a little while ago, and i couldn't make any changes to it. On the bottom left hand screen, it says that the document is locked.

i've gone to the Microsoft word help section to try to unlock it, but it doesn't tell me how to.

So, how do i unlock the documents? I'm the only one usnig this computer, and i have no idea how it even happened. Help, please?

tools>unprotect
help>activate product, see if it's registered

If you can't fix it, openoffice should be able to open it:
