Approaching a girl

Question Posted Monday February 12 2007, 4:20 pm

I am 20/male in college. In one of my classes there is a girl that I like that sits across the room. Every once and awhile we will make eye contact for a few seconds but neither of us really smile. So how can I tell if she's interested or not? And how can I approach her if we sit on opposite sides of the room? I think we are both really shy and might just be in some sort of standoff or something.

You'll never know unless you ask!

Next time your eyes connect, smile! If she smiles back, a real genuine smile and not a forced one in politeness, she might just be attracted to you.

If so, wait for her after class (when she is away from her friends) and strike up a conversation. If that goes well, ask her out for coffee and maybe to review notes. Get a cell phone number, and your in!
Or if you'd like to know a little more about her first, ask around or do a search and see if she has a myspace or facebook. Pretty much everyone does, and its a good way to get some background information.

But be sure she doesn't have a boyfriend or anything, first :)

Good luck!

Well, if you can't talk to her before class, say hi to her after class. Compliment her, smile at her. Become her friend & if you think she's interested back, ask her out.
