Okay, my sister will be turning 13 soon and I want to throw her a party. Any ideas about what to do and what not? Also she can't decide if she just wants money or if you wants clothes and games or what not. Any help and ideas are loved! Also her birthday is March 24th. Her likes are: Singing, ancing, music, pink retro, and dressing up.

Well, for invitations, you could either make your own using pink construction paper and pink glitter and fun stuff like that, or I know if you go to a craft store or a store like claires, or this place called Libby Lous, depending where you live, you could find stuff there. Depending on how "girly" your sister would like this type or party to be is up to her, the clothes could vary from, like I said, just a pink shirt and jeans, you pink dresses, almost prom-type. As for activites, you could make this party carry on back at your house and have a sleep-over where you could do makeovers and other fun girly stuff, or you could even do that where you have the party. You can find great idea for facials, manicures, pedicures, and fun beauty stuff on google. Also, renting kareoke machines and stuff if pretty cheap, or you chould just get lyrics to a certain amount of songs online. Well, this is pretty long so I should probably stop lol. Hope I helped ♥ Kathleen. Plus, tell your sister happy birthday! [ imxkathleenx3's advice column | Ask imxkathleenx3 A Question ]
Like the last poster stated buying her clothes is the simply the wrong idea. At 13-years-old she is still growing and likely to have a growth spurt any time soon. What you buy her today may not fit her a month or two down the road.
You would also need her exact waist size and meaurements to pick something ou otherwise, you run the risk of it not fitting let alone possiblly disliking of what you bought her. If she enjoys games, clothes, movies get her a gift-card for her favorite clothing store and the nearest movie theatre.
Speaking of movie theatres many of them offer group rates or their own in house birthday party services. Just let them know she's 13 and not a kid and wants to be treated like a teenager so they don't go all Disney with the decor of the room where cake is eaten and gifts exchanged. The birthday kid always picks the movie.
She may also like indoor laser tag, paint-ball, or indoor go-karting which is all the rage here with teens. You could also hold your own party and play trivia games on pop culture such as Scene It or a murder mystery game where all the guests are implicated in a murder and have to wear costumes and solve the crime.
If she loves singing and dancing check out what drama or parks and recreation courses are available for kids/teens interested in music, singing, dancing or theater exist. You and your family might be able to purchase a spot for her in a special program or camp.
advice_expert101 answered Saturday February 10 2007, 4:11 pm: what to do:
give her money
give her gift cards
buy her something she really wants like an ipod or something nice like that
if she doesnt have a cellphone get her that
maybe gift her two tickets to a concert of her favorite band or something
what not to do:
dont buy her clothes because it would be better if you let her pick it out
dont take her bowling or anything stupid like that
for that party:
DONT do something stupid like bowling or anything
you should invite all her friends over and have the basement decorated with birthday stuff and like have food and whatev down there and music that you know shell like and throw a big party. make sure there are guys and girls. and if you dont know who she is really friends with, you could either invite a large percentage of the grade or let her pick the people (meaning it wouldnt be a surprise birthdayparty)
