Cartilage Piercing

Question Posted Wednesday February 7 2007, 7:07 pm

For my fourteeth birthday my parents have decided that I can get a cartilage piercing. I was really excited and told my friends. One of them got this pained look on her face and said that when her sister got her cartilage pierced, she fainted because it hurt so bad. My other friend told me her piercing didn't hurt one bit. Now I'm confused. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much does it hurt?

1. It's a dull sharp pain which lasts a few seconds. Then it numbs. You will feel it throbbing for a while afterwards. Cold weather can make it hurt a bit and banging it will obviously cause a bit of pain.
Everyones tolerance to pain is different. If you want it, go for it. Don't let the pain factor put you off. Chances are your friend fainted because she was worried or afraid of needles. It's really not that bad.

It barely hurts, its just like a 2-3 out of 10. It could have been that your friends sister's cartilage was pierced incorrectly or something. But you should get it pierced, because it will look fantastic and it doesnt really hurt. Just a small sting when it happens, and then after that its a little sore.

its like a 2 really. its just a small pinch/sting. just be careful that afterwords you dont lay directly on it while sleeping or let anything like a hairbrush or something hit it or else itll be sore!

I had it done and it honestly didn't hurt. It felt like a slight sting. The cartilage area is tender after that though. For a few weeks I couldn't sleep on that side. It's really not that bad just make sure you keep it clean and don't touch it!! Ok Good luck and really don't worry!!

i had mine down twice the same day (two different holes). i thought it felt just like getting your earlobe periced. but everyone has a different level of pain. its kind of asking if someone is beautiful or 'hot'.
so really..it depends on what your level of pain is..

it doubt it made nebody faint, when i got mine done, i was like " are you gonna do it?" and she said that she already had. As long as you have a hand to squeeze, ur all good. I'd say it hurt about a 2, but wut hurt more about it was after it, it was soo sore and red for like...a month after, but then it went a way, so now i'm fine with it.
