ROACCUTAN

Question Posted Monday January 29 2007, 7:27 pm

What is ro-accutan?

I know it is for acne, but is it a steroid?

And if it is not a steroid, why is there so many warnings against getting pregnant or empregnating someone while taking it?

And how often do you take it? My box came w/o instructions. Far out I know.

PLease help

Most medicines, steroids or not, usually come with a warning against getting pregnant. It's not usually recommended to take anything during a pregnancy because it could cause harm to the baby. <3

Oh I'm on it right now, and I have been since July. Ro-accutane is basically a derivative of vitamin A. No, it's not a steroid.

It can cause SEVERE birth defects and possibly death to the child. That's why you have to jump through hoops like the iPledge, blood tests, etc. to get on it.

You should take it once a day with food.

=)
