Hair won't grow

Question Posted Sunday January 28 2007, 6:13 pm

I've dyed it about 3 times ever...always waiting about 3 months in between to let it retain moisture and get stronger before I do it again. About 3 months ago I dyed it and a few weeks later got it cut. Ever since then it has grown extremely slow. How can I get it to grow fast again?

Even though you waited 3 months between colorings, hair dye still does extreme damage to your hair. It regains moisture between colorings, but the moisture gets stripped back out when you color again.

Tip: When color treating your hair, don't wash it before hand. The dirtier you hair is, the better. The chemicals in hair dye strip your head and hair completely of it's natural oils, and it doesn't do it so bad when your hair is oily.

There is no miracle product to make it grow faster. Sad but true fact, you just have to be patient.

Get some deep conditioning treatments to help it regain health. Your hair needs it. I use John Frieda Frizz Ease Critical Care- Hydrate for a deep conditioner. It works real nice. It says to use daily, but it is pretty costly per tube, so I would suggest using it 2 or 3 times the first week, then once a week after.

Trimming doesn't make it grow faster, but it helps keep it from breaking shorter. My hair is color treated, (has been for at least 15 years) and I am trying to grow it long. I only trim when I notice split ends. The last trim I got was in July, and I am just now coming due for a trim.

when shampooing, massage your scalp. it loosens it so the hair can grow! also , there are several hair products, like the columnists said below me. hair grows a little faster in the summer than in the winter.

Shampoo such as Pantene ProV and Garnier Fructise can strenghten your hair, and get it to grow faster. Conditioner can give hair moisture, making it more likely to grow.

Also, like what the columnist below me said, trimming it every-so-often can keep your hair from getting split-ends. But you don't have to do it every 2-4 weeks. It varies for everybody. But if it's growing that slow, give it another months before you get it trimmed.

And with dyeing hair [so often], hair can slow from growing and weaken, so shampooing and conditioning it daily can help out.

Hope I helped =]
