writing ionic formulas

i'm doing my science homework right now, and, as my subject says, it's about writing ionic formulas. i get it, but i got stuck in one of them. what element is cyanide? is it cesium?

Hydrogen cyanide(which you're probably talking about; cyanide is anything with -CN in it) is made of 3 elements: hydrogen bonded to carbon which is triple-bonded to nitrogen(H—C≡N). C=carbon, Cs=cæsium.

cyanide is am ionic compound of carbon and nitrogen, so the formula for it is CN (with a negative one charge). i know this because i take honors chem ;) hope i helped!
