I have been coughing horribly for 3 straight months! I went to my doctor and he said it was allergies mixed with acid reflex. He gave me medicine for both, and my acid reflex has gotten A LOT better but I'm coughing even more now! It sounds worse too, and I cough up mucus every time(yes, I know it's gross). Does this mean it's getting better or what? I can't go to the doctor again because my step dad thinks I'm a hypocondriac.

i used to do that. except mine was for two years. yeahh, i hated it so much. one time when i went back to the doctor, they gave me some inhaler thing that i took before i went to bed & a different one for during the day. nope, it wasn't asthma. i forgot what it was; it might not have even been called anything. but, you can tell your doctor that you know someone who's had the same problem as you & they gave them an inhaler & now their cough is gone & you can see if they'll give you something like i had.
