If I had a tampon in during the day, and kept it in while swimming, would I need to take it out? Or can I keep on going afterwards for another few hours until I need to take it out?
Do tampons fill with water when swimming?

If more than that, TSS (toxic shock sydrome) can occur. Also, if you went swimming there could be bacteria or your tampon could have absorbed water. Simple answe: Take it out. But if you're going swimming I would change right before going into the pool & right after you get out. Just to be clean & keep the pool completely clean too. It's better to be safe then sorry! And it's only tampons, they're not expenisve so it's not like you'll be wasting money. [ TARAfying's advice column | Ask TARAfying A Question ]

Yes, tampons do fill up with water when you swim and if you don't change it afterwards the string will make your undies all wet. [ 4210708's advice column | Ask 4210708 A Question ]
