It depends on which type of strep it is, or what kind of virus you're infected with. Some viruses antibiotics can't even help. Some can, though. I suggest going to your doctor if possible and they can do a strep culture and let you know.

It depends
some of them, you just wait and it gets better.
but when i had it, it got worse and worse and it would not get better. i went to the doctor and they even told me to do a surgery to cut my throat and get the stuff out. but gladly i diddnt have to do that, cause they gave me antibiotics. but watch out for antibiotics, choose them wisely. cause in mycase, my strep throat got better, but i got allergic reactions and got rashes over my body :[

Most of them usually getbetter after a while tho :]

I'm [retty sure it only gets worse... like rheumatic (?) fever. my friend tried that and they just found out she has arthritis from it so get the antibiotics if you can.<3

Technically it can, but you should get antibiotics. Untreated strep can lead to scarlet fever (rash), rheumatic fever, and kidney problems.

Daimeera answered Saturday January 20 2007, 5:36 pm:
Maybe, but you shouldn't do it that way. Strep throat can lead to extremely dangerous infections that can have a very negative effect on your body--for instance, rheumatic fever, and kidney inflammation. In rare cases, it can lead to heart failure.

Mayo Health Clinic will give you more information:

Yeah but it would take a longer period of time and it would be a lot healthier to get it checked out and get some antibotics.
