Healthy Diet

Question Posted Saturday January 13 2007, 10:16 pm

I would like some advice on what I should eat because I'm planning on going on a diet... I know some things I should avoid already like junk food, which isn't a problem. What else can I do to not slow down my metabolism and possibly gain more energy? I'm planning to lose maybe 20-30 pounds and I already have a way to exercise. I just need to know what things I can or should eat. Thanks in advance.

i found this interesting, and it's not even a diet, it's just how to eat right.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) << i did this diet, and i lost 7 pounds in 6 days. it's an unhealthy diet since you don't eat carbs, but you should only do it for 1 week at a time.

ok.
eat alot of protein for the energy.
fruits and vegis are always healthy.
but you cant limit your diet to that.
of course, cut back or even off of sugar and caffeine, you know that.
and make sure you keep exercising.
hope i could help :]

Well it all depends mainly on your height, age, and weight. If your doctor has mentioned the fact that you are over-weight here's a good diet plan...
-Eat 1700 calories a day if you are between the ages of 11-18
-Exercise for about 30 minutes a day on a treadmill etc. (just an alternative if your other exercise doesn't work out) Maybe take walks outside on the sidewalk or whatever
-Instead of watching tv for an hour, call up a friend and see if she/he wants to go to a mall or hang out at an amusement park or something
-Instead of avoiding foods with carbs avoid all the fat calories. The carb diet is a much more dangerous diet and is more difficult. With the cutting down on calorie diet, you'll get healthier. But remember...keep in mind that you need meat unless you're a vegetarian, get protein to stay healthy! And you need SOME calories just not over-loading a day.
-And finally...once a week everyone has a cheat day, the day in your week that is cut out for eating normal again like around the Holidays. So feel free to pig out on those days just not too much! And don't try to lose like 6lbs a week because it will come back and it's dangerous. Don't ever starve yourself. Don't EVER! ever. ever. Also, grapefruit raises metabolism it burns about 10 calories each one you eat. And keep in mind that 1lb is 3500 calories. Good luck hope i helped!
