Bleaching's good::
Firstly, I have bleached several pairs of my jeans [accidentally and just out of boredom] before and I can safely say that the bleach isn't some kind of fabric eating monster. What I did:
for small spots: I had a cup of bleach and a q tip. dip the q tip in the bleach and dot
wherever you want the spot on your jeans.
for larger spots: use a cotton ball, but otherwise, same procedure.
[tip]you might want to wear plastic gloves while you're doing this, but if you don't, be sure not to try to get any bleach on your hands--and if you do, be SURE to wash it off with warm [not hot, it drys your hands out] water and soap.
When I redid a pair of my jeans, i found alot of old buttons off of random things [like some places when you buy a shirt, skirt, dress, pants-whatever they come with extra buttons] and i stitched those on near a pocket or something--it was cute. :]
It's best to do a little, see if you like it- do more- if you don't-stop.
Safety pins are neat::
I got a whole bunch of them and put beads on them, then pinned them on in a half circle design around my pocket-cute. :]
Chains::
Eh, a little intimdating-I personally wouldn't try it. But I'm more of a less hardcore kid than some. Maybe that's your thing.
Pictures::
Eep. Yes! I have an absolutely adorable looking robot on my jeans. they are suppper cute. :]
In the picture, the robot has a squiggle mouth and in the thought bubble he's saying, 'Eep!'. I love it.
I love the whole, pulling the vertical strings thing, too, to make a little spot. :] that's one of my favorite things to do.
Ohh, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, in this picture [[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)] on my right leg, next to my knee, there's the picture of my robot and the little frayed part.

You can also take your jeans outside and splatter it with bleach. Like get an old pain brush, dip it in bleach, lay your jeans down on the road outside and just splash it all over.
My friend got those paints that won't wash off and decorated her whole jeans and it looks cool
