Eating Problem.

Okay.
15/f.
For the past year ive had thi s strange Obsession with weight.
I must weigh myself like 8 or more times a day.
And if i dont like what i see....
I wont eat for like the day or the next day sometimes.
Im not fat. At all.
Im pretty popualr.
I have a Gorgeous boyfriend!!!
And im not like stick skinny.
Im just not happy.
And I just hate this weight issue.
and i dont know what it is.
its not anorexia.
Or belemia.
I just have an issue.

what the hell do i do???

I think you might have obsessive compulsive disorder, It can be treated well, I would recommend talking to your doctor about getting meds for it / getting a psychiatrist.

I do the same thing,
Im 16/f & i have a boyfreind who is amazingly gorgeou, im very popular too, people have told me before that I need to eat more, but i still see my self as 'fat'. I think its normal for a teenage girl, I also weigh my self about 4 times a day. The end of the day is when you will weigh the most, in the morning when you first wake up, thats how much you really weigh. I think its normal, but dont let it become a problem like anorexia, you are popular & have a gorgeous boyfriend, what more could you want?! =] !!

same thing with me. i think im fat, and tons of people tell me im fat. I also have a great bf, who is adorable =]. He is what makes me understand theres nothing wront with me. sometimes i look at myself and tell myself im not fat, and im pretty, because everyone tells me that. look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself positive things, thats what my therapist told me to do. it will work after a while. dont stress about your weight, just eat healthy foods. it will be all good. or dont eat so much during the day. Also, if people are putting you down dont listen to them. they are just really jealous they want to look like you. atleast weight yourself like once a week. thats what i do, so i dont get so worried. also exercising will help. be active!

Well it sounds like you may have BDD (Body Dismorphic Disorder), but since you say you don't think you're fat that may not be it. You could also have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), everyone thinks it's people who just have to touch things a thousand times but it manifests itself in a lot of ways. I'd go to a health website and look up these disorders to see if they fit you. Know that most of these things do escalate themselves into anorexia and bulima. I'd suggest talking to a doctor about it, the confidentiality agreement does come into play with that.

It sounds like ED-NOS to me--Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. Basically, that means that it's not Anorexia or Bulimia because you don't fit the criteria (although an argument could be made for Bulimia) but that you still have an eating disorder, which can be every bit as serious as Anorexia and Bulimia.

I think you should at the very least talk to your doctor about it. Tell him or her what's been going on. You might get a recommendation to see a therapist or a nutritionist, or it might be something that the doctor feels he or she can keep under control.

But the longer you wait to get this resolved, the worse it will be. These things tend to spiral.

No one but a doctor can diagnose you, however you might want to start at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). They have information about different eating disorders as well as a screening test. Even if that comes back negative, though, this is obviously still affecting your life, and you NEED to get professional help.

i definitely get what your saying. if you think you have a weight problem, simply fix it by going on a diet. but not like a extreme diet where you dont eat or throw up after you eat, just like cutting back on some foods and excercising. when you say you wont eat for the day, you are anorexic! stop doing that and eat! lol im not trying to sound rude or w/e but when you starve yourself for even a day, your body needs the fuel and your stomach starts eating itself which is beyond unhealthy. please just lose weight the safe way by excercising and eating healthy.
EXCERCISE! for 40-60 minutes a day. the best way is to run on a tredmill. subsitute the things you love for healthy foods. for example, instead of icecream, eat frozen yougurt. instead of french fries, eat carrot sticks. instead of cookies and candy, eat fresh fruit. instead of milkshakes, drink a fresh fruit smoothie. in a blender, put your favorite juice in there along with fresh fruit and a few icecubes. blend and enjoy! sodas and pops can be replaced with water and juice. drink ALOT of water. did you know that one Pecan Pie has the same amount of fat as 12 cheeseburgers? cut down on sugary, salty, and fatty foods. here is a meal plan i got from Seventeen magazine:

Breakfast:

3/4 cup cheerios
1 cup low fat milk or soy milk
1 medium banana
--------------------
mid-morning snack:

1/2 cup of raisins
3/4 (6oz) low fat plain yougurt
--------------------
lunch:(sandwich)

2 slices whole wheat bread
4 slices turkey breast
1 slice of american cheese
1 tsp. mayonaise
and with your sandwich:
1 cup raw carrots
1 glass of milk
---------------------
evening snack:

3/4 cup blueberries
1 apple
apple juice(or any fruit juice, NO POP OR SODA!)
-------------------------
dinner:

1 wheat tortilla roll
4 slices of turkey breast
lettuce
american cheese
roll it up and there you go!
1/2 cup cooked broccoli
1 glass of water


you should be able to lose weight in 3-4 weeks. good luck and hope i helped!
