what does it mean when people are like "touche" in french? its pronounced as "too-shay". and someone said it in a video. they're like "ah, touche". I believe its frenched but what does it mean.. and like how would you say it in real life? in what situation?
Also I just was about to eat this green jellybean, and i bit it and it was hard and i split it open and it looked funny in there... like hardish so i threw it out. it was also shapped bigger and differently than the others. it was also the size of 2 normal jelly beans. did i do the right thing? tho i kinda wanted to eat it, lol
It is used two ways in every day conversation. It is used to admit that a point is true, especially when a person has succesfully countered your logic. It is also used sarcastically when you can't argue against someone's logic. If you imagine an argument as a sword fight, it might make more sense.
orphans answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 8:27 pm: touche means like "ahh i got you" or "ahh you got me" it depends on like what the text is. for example, if you were arguing about like if mean girls or pirates of the carribeans was better, youd be bringing up all these points, but then if the other person said it sold more/better, you could say "touche," like syaing good point
#2, umm it probably wasnt badd, but i probably wouldnt have ate it.
future references: since these two questions are totally different, ask them in different questions, dont put them on the same one! it even says it unde rthe box for "get advice" where you ask your question ♥!! =] [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
vivalajam0x answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 7:29 pm: 1.) Not so sure for the first part.
2.) As for the 2nd part; haha I think it was just abnormal. I get those sometimes =] don't worry! mmm. you made me crave jellybeans hehe.
trlblzr4u answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 7:19 pm: It is said at a point where you are trying to make a point in an arguement or discussion and the person you are arguing or discussing with, comes back with something to "prove" you wrong. Or to counter your point. Most of the time it is said when you think your point is the only way it can go and you get confronted with a new view of things. As for the jelly bean thing, don't know because I'm not one that usually eats them, so sorry. [ trlblzr4u's advice column | Ask trlblzr4u A Question ]
Fatcat07 answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 7:14 pm: when people say touche it means like if you insult someone or you make a good point and someone turns around and insults you right back or makes a better piont than you you would say "touche". its like "good one" or "good point".
