Okay, the only jeans that I have...ripped tremendously. They were the only jeans I had. So, I told my mom about it and she said that it would be about 2 months before she can be able to get me a new pair of jeans. What the heck am I gonna do for two months with no pants...in the winter. My mom also said that she talked to our school guidance councelor, and she said that the counselor was rude about it. So I don't know what to do. I'm screwed!
Sherry answered Tuesday January 2 2007, 5:42 pm: I would go to a thrift store or a slavation army. Their jeans / pants are really cheap. Ask your mom to just go with you one day and if you try hard enough [look everywhere in the store]...you can get cute stuff for like $5.
If your mom doesn't want to, I suggest trying to find a quick babysitting job or mowing the lawn type of thing...from your neighbors, friends, etc.

You could ask an elderly neighbor if they need some help cleaning out their attic, or shoveling their driveway. There really are many little things you can do for money, and if you don't get a lot, you can save up. I know that buying a decent pair of jeans can cost around $50 from a store like JC Penney's or something, but if you have a Salvation Army or Goodwill around you.. they might have a nice pair of jeans, for less than a fifth of the price of brand new jeans. Going to Salvation Army for clothes doesn't mean that you're dumpy and poor, I have a friend that lives in a gorgeous house and both of her parents have good jobs, and she still shops at thrift stores. There are even Consignment stores that have REALLY nice secondhand clothes, and you might even be able to find jeans that are like new from stores like Abercrombie or AE, for really good prices. If you're not able to find a job or scrounge (idk if that's even a word, hahaa) up a little bit of money, try to talk to talk to a church to get help. That's absolteuly rediculous that a guidance couselor would act like that . I hope I help, good luck hun<3 [ leLovely's advice column | Ask leLovely A Question ]
