*Serious Period Problem*

Question Posted Saturday December 30 2006, 8:26 pm

- I haven't had my period in the last four months. I am not sexually active with boys so I can't be pregnant. Although like dark brown spots show up in my underwear. I'm so scared but I don't know what it could be. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I Have your same problem!!
Its nothing to worry about trust me..

Okay if you are skinny and a runner/athlete/very active like me and have a high metabolism you wont get your period normal. Atleast thats what my doctor told me.

Those brown spots are what your "supposable" period should be but your body for some reason doesnt show blood.

One time i didnt get my period for almost 5 months but then i got it..you will to. Unless your really worried then go see your doctor :)

if you just started your peiod then its normal to miss a few months it takes your body about 1-2 years to adjust to your period and have it come regualary so i wouldnt worry about it.If youve had your period for more then 3 years then i would suggest telling your mom/guardian whats going on and they can maybe take you too the doctors to see whats wrong. It could also be because of lots of stress and if your anorexic it really will screw up your body.

Are you a serious dieter, or a very very skinny girl to begin with who has lost weight? This is one reason why your period can stop. How long have you had your period? Some girls, when they first start to get periods, may skip a month or two and what little fluid does turn up is kind of brownish (this happened to me). Other reasons for "amenorrhea" (the medical term) include problems with your ovaries or problems with your thyroid. There's nothing to be scared about, but I know it's easier for me to say than for you to feel. Believe me, what you describe doesn't sound fatal, or even really embarrassing (unless it's happening to you, I guess). If you just started getting your period within the last six months, breathe a sigh of relief and forget the whole thing. If "new period" isn't the answer to your problem, you need to tell your mom and see a doctor--not because there's anything horribly wrong, but because he or she can fix you right up. Honest! Gigi
