It's a pit of people that push/shove/punch/stomp other people. It usually consists of guys, but brave girls do it too. I don't advise it though because it'll piss the other kids who are trying to enjoy the concert off, and hurting people for fun is stupid. Also, I've seen kids leave those things with bruises, broken bones & blood.
I was at Warped Tour this past August, and I was enjoying the show while the dumbasses behind me almost broke my ribs from pushing up against me and pushing me into the barriers that seperated the fans from the music artists. >:[

A mosh pit is where guys [and brave girls] start pushing eachother, shoving, stepping on eachother, hitting, punching, etc. to mostly rock music. It can get really violent so I advise against it. And they usually just start out by themselves once the music gets going and all you do is start getting physical. I think it's pointless to hurt people for "fun". I see guys & girls walk out of mosh pits with bloody faces.

A mosh pit is when people just start jumping around in a big crowd/circle. How you would start one is by just getting like 3 or 4 friends and just start jumping around; and then random people just join in, & then you`ve got a mosh pit :] ♥

A mosh pit is when people start to toss themselves into others. You can usually see it happening toward the front rows of a concert. It kind of just starts itself usually. One way would be to push against someone else, slightly hard, and see what happens from there.
