Sims 2 Pets (for nintendo DS)

I got the Sims 2 Pets for Christmas.It's the one for Nintendo DS, not for the computer.
I bought the $20,000 house. It looked like it was 2 stories, but when it was built, it was only 1. Is there some way to access the 2nd story or is their not one?

Well if it shows that there isn't a 2nd story then you should just build your own..
