I'm 14 and I have a problem when talking to boys. Whenever I see guys checking me out, I get really nervous and run away and hide until he goes away.
But if I ever do get the chance to talk to a boy, my mind goes blank, and I can't think of anything to talk about except my cat. I'm always a weird, annoying dullard around guys, even though I'm not like that at all around other people.
How can I get over this and behave normally around guys, like other girls?

This is the easiest to do, when you talk to a guy just pretend its your best friend and avoid the subject about your cat. Bring up a different subject and they will keep the conversation going. To get confidence just wear some make up and a little lip gloss and some nice yet normal smelling perfume. Trust me that gives you confindence in what you do. It will be hard at first but then once you do it for awhile it would be so easy. [ kiran's advice column | Ask kiran A Question ]

be yourself and say stuff you say to your freinds
the_sweeter_heart answered Sunday December 24 2006, 10:14 pm: Wear sweet-smelling perfume, kind of like vanilla, creamy or sugary, so that when you think you're going to freak out near a guy, you can take a deep breath and take a sniff of that scent to calm you down.
Pretend the guy is just a friend of yours. It's hard, but it's possible. Try to imagine what you would reply if this boy was your friend. Try not to act nervous. Don't try to make eye contact with the guy, because it'll mkae you even more nervous.
Giggle at the jokes a guy makes. Guys like it when girls think they're funny. If he is sharing expreiences with you, talk about a similar thing that happened to you or just about how you feel about the situation. Try to keep a conversation going. Avoid topics about your cat, unless animals is your current topic. =)

Try to talk to boys as you would talk to girls or your friends. Just be laid back and relax, dont stress. Its when you think too hard about how youre going to act that you say something stupid. Try to plan things to say before you go up to a guy to try to talk. That way your mind wont go totally blank. And stay calm! [ xomichelle891xo's advice column | Ask xomichelle891xo A Question ]
LittleMooCow answered Sunday December 24 2006, 8:51 pm: Perhaps take a friend with you and meet up with some boys , see how you feel around them, or ask how they act about it.
I get attention when im walking in the street its highly embarressing when they beep at you.
If you notice someone looking at you think of something else and dont make eye contact then turn away :)
