I have horrible acne, I just started going to the dermatologist. They told me to wash my face in the morning and at night, and then put on different creams after im done washing. They also gave me a pill. Which by the way, none of this stuff works, but it's all that's left.
Anyways, in the morning after I put the cream on, i need to wear foundation, but when i put it on over the cream it turns into this MESS! the foundation seperates itself from the zits. I'm dry and flakey too, but moisturizer just makes the flakes greasy. HELP!!!!!!!!!

here is what you do.
i went to the dermatologist..it worked after like SIX months. and then it stopped working..i guess my skin got to used to it or whatever
so i made my own routine..
every morning and night i wash my face w/ Cetaphil gentle cleanser. its in a big bottle that has a blue sticker saying Cetaphil. then go to walmart or whatever and buy Equate acne cream. its like 3 bucks or something. it has 10% benzoyl peroxide. so only put it on at night.
and when you do put it on, put a thin layer..dont rub it in all the way, leave it where you can still see the white of the cream.and you only have to put it on the affected areas.
as for moisturizer.. i use Cetaphil moisturizing cream for dry, sensitive skin. i use it in the morning before i put my makeup on. i dont use it at night.
as for foundation.
i would try bareminerals. i use it, and it works wonders. just make sure your moisturizer is all the way dry. and that cetaphil moisturizer is pretty strong so dont put a ton on. you only need a little bit. or else it will be greasy. so let it dry for like 10 minutes and than put the bareminerals on. they have a kit in sephora called like.. beyond the basics. i think its around 50 bucks.. but its worth it.. and you get alot of stuff
hope i helped! [ afbabiidoll05's advice column | Ask afbabiidoll05 A Question ]
BooYouWhore answered Sunday December 24 2006, 4:05 pm: my suggestion is to talk to your dermatologist again and avoid wearing concealor. I don't really wear it and my skin is much better. The concealor clogs up your pores and makes your acne worse, even though you're trying to cover it up. Go back to the dermatologist and try to get a type that works better. They'll work with you to find what works.
Hope I helped!

It made her break out badly for a week because her skin wasnt used to it or something, but after that it started clearing it all up. xojessii answered Sunday December 24 2006, 2:36 pm: the medicine is drying out your skin. & its not the cream thats messing up your foundation, your face is just really dry. i had the same problem last winter. its just the cold dry weather doing that. & give creams & pill some time. you deffinatley want to put on moisturizer, it will help. just put some on before bed. & try mixing your cream or lotion into your foundation in you hand, it should go on better.
