Mono is a disease that you can catch from other people (its contagious) and its called the kissing disease.. you usually get it from kissing people... (thats why)

Mononucleosis (Mono) is a viral illness which is easily transmitted through contact with another person's saliva (thus the thing about not sharing cups). Some people are not affected at all, but it makes some people very ill for a few months with fevers, sore throats, and overwhelming fatigue (tiredness).

People call mono the kissing disease but thats not really it. Mono is short for mononucleosis (not sure if I spelled that right) and its just a disease that you get from coming in contact with someone's saliva. Basically, it makes you tired all the time. And it takes like 6 months to a year to get over it. Hope this helped!
