Maybe shes amazed by your awsomeness, and she is like scared to be around you jk lol. But anyways, I don't know if it's an excuse, she probably just wants to date someone else, and didn't want to hurt your feelings. It's cheap and mean, but that's how girls are sometimes, we hate dealing with confrontation. But you probably do have a chance at getting back with her, but maybe you shouldnt. If you spend all of your time trying to get back together with her, then she will just think less of you. I think you should move on and find a really great girl who wants to be around you in a way that is more than a friend. And if you don't find one, don't worry about it, there are tons of great girls out there and you'll find one soon. If she does ask for you back, think of how you feel. Don't go back to her because it's easier, go back to her because you like her, and if you move on and realize that she isn't worth it, then don't go back to her, you should only be with her, if you think that you two are good together.
As far as what to do, only you can find the best thing to do. It's your life, and you have to do whats in your heart, but if she doesnt seem too interested, I would just back off. I don't know, thats just me, but I think that if she wants her space, then she wants her space.
I hope you find someone great to go out with, and just remember, it doesnt matter who date or for how long you date them, the important thing is who you are, so don't feel upset that she dumped you, you're way too good for her! Hope I gave you some enlightenment. Lots of love,

Christine93 answered Monday December 11 2006, 5:56 pm: Dear Dumped,
You need to respect that she thinks your a better friend than boyfriend. Maybe this is better, and you will find out in the long run. If you really want to get back together with her talk to her later on about it. Give her some time.
Good Luck,

Brandi_S answered Monday December 11 2006, 1:11 pm: Well, speaking from experience, it is hard to remain friends after breaking up.
To answer your questions...
1) It boils down to she does like you, but not in a boyfriend/girlfriend fashion. I guess it is an excuse, but is probably an honest one.
2) I would say chances are no on getting back together. She feels a certain way, and you can't change a person's feelings no more than you can lead a horse to water and make it drink. I know you really like her and so this sucks. But I suppose if you want to hold onto that hope that she will have a change of heart, you could.
3) Try to do your best to get over her. If she wants to break up, you just have to break up. If you want to try to be friends with her, do so, but I advise against that until you get over your hurt, which will take some time. If you decide to take some time away from her, explain to her that you don't want calls from her and see her everyday, but tell her you do want to get in touch with her again sometime. To talk to her on the phone and hang out with her is only going to prolong your pain and suffering. When you can stand to see her with another guy, you are over it. sizzlinmandolin answered Monday December 11 2006, 1:07 pm: You could try giving her an ultimatum. Tell her tha tyou care about her so much that you wouldn't be able to be just friends with her. If she doesn't want to try to work things out you two are going to have to stop talking altogether because you will just keep fighting to get her back. It might work, it might not. In any case, for awhile at least (a year), even if she won't get back with you, stick with the plan. Don't talk to her at all. It'll help you get over her and it might make her miss you so much that she'll want to get back with you. There's nothing wrong with you. Relationships tend not to work when you're a teenager for everyone. Good luck. :) [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
