I have a female, seven year old dog that is a rat terrier. For almost four months, she has had a bump on her right side. It's about half the size of a nickel. What could this be?

If its more of a ball kind of shape, it could be a small tumor, it's not uncommon for dogs (or horses as I have commonly seen) to get very small tumors that never grow very large and are harmless, but I strongly advise you to see a vet to make sure it isn't harmful. =] [ fish34's advice column | Ask fish34 A Question ]

You could also try giving it a few days (about 3-5) and see if the bump gets smaller. If not it may be something serious.
