I have really thick and curly hair, too. But I tend to straighten it as often as I can. You can get your hair thinned out a bit from a hairdresser. It'll make your hair way easier to style and such. I always get my hair thinned out, especially if I'm going to leave it curly. It makes it so much easier. I highly suggest that.

For some styles, you could simply put mousse and hair spray in your hair. It'll leave your hair curly, but it wouldn't leave it all puffy. Also, putting your hair up in a high pony tail looks really cute, or a messy bun with some curls hanging down. Haft up haft down also looks gorgeous with curly hair. Anything really, just experiment with your hair and some hair styles.

I have thick hair too, and it gets curly/wavey sometimes. But curly hair is really nice.. like some girls straighen their hair everyday and never let their natural hair out. If your hair is curly, you can always clip back your bangs (i always do that, its easy and it never gets old). Some times its cute to just put it in a pony and let some curls fall down- just kind of put your hands under your hair by your neck and put it in a looseish kind of pony (like my default picture, it looks like my hair is short but ts just up and theres pieces hanging down). You can have alot of fun with head bands and bows, those are always fun to put in your hair. If you have clips with little bows or little things on them. Be creative, theres alot of things you can do with your hair. Those are usually things i try with mine. Heres a site that seems pretty intresting with hair styles..

it depends on your hair length on what kind of styles that you can do. first of all, if you don't want it curly then straighten it. straighters can be bought at walgreens, target, or walmart and the price can be from $20-40. it would be cute if you kept a headband in your hair. also, wear it half up half down. heres what it looks like to have it half up half down:

theres also this American Girl book thats called Hair- Styling Tips And Tricks For Girls. its a book thats full of 61 pages of cute hairstyles. heres a picture of it:

you can either order it from that page or borrow it from the library.

heres what the section for the curly hair says:

Hair Care Tips
--------------
Curly or coarse hair tends to be dry because of the natural oils don't get distributed. Use a conditioner every time you shampoo. If your hair is still dry, try a deep-conditioning treatment once or twice a month.

A leave in conditioner helps curls hold their shape. Use it while your hair is still damp. For very curly, kinky, or African American hair, rub a dab of pomade, or hair balm between your palms and work it through your hair.

Styling Tricks
--------------

Whenever possible allow curly to air dry. They'll stay curlier that way. If you do blow-dry, attach a diffuser to your hair dryer to cut down on the flow of air, which prevents frizz.

if you get this book, you'll always have something to do with your hair!=) i also have the book lol. hope i helped.

xo melissa
