the straightner i use is remington wet2straight, it's really good, and you can set it on a scale of heating from 1 to 30. it beeps when the straightner is finished heating up to the number of your choice. it's only about $30 too.
and to help keep your hair from being damaged by straighteing and blowdrying it, i suggest you use v05 mircale! mist, heat defense and conditioning spray. (it says all that on the bottle) not only does it keep your hair shiny, but it protects your hair from being fried.
hope i helped!!

The wet to straight, straighteners DO NOT work. :[ My best friend got one for her birthday and I used it, it really doesn't help with the frizziness factor at all. It straightens it, just a little. Not much.
A good straightener under the price of 35$ is Revlon. It's the one I use & it's awwwwesome. It doesn't help with frizziness either, but usually a lot of girls use hair products, [anti-frizz stuff] beforehand to help with that sorta stuff. I'd stay clear away from Conair straighteners though. They really do not work. :[ [ amygwendoline's advice column | Ask amygwendoline A Question ]
TEENAGExHEARTS answered Friday November 24 2006, 11:47 pm: personally the wet to straight straighteners don't do crap for my hair. and if i use one i have to go over each section of my hair like 10 times just to get it dry and then like 2-3 more times just to straighten it.
