The straightner i use is by conair. It has 2 inch plates, 25 heat setting and a turbo setting. I know a few of my friends with super curly hair use it, and it works great, because it gets really hot, but doesnt damage your hair. best of all is only about 20 dollars at walmart or eckard

My hair is like that picture if I don't use GHD's. But now my hair is wonderfully straight and it doesn't even go curly if it's a windy day. Just a couple of things you need to be careful of with them though, they do get VERY hot, so you need to pull them through your hair quickly or you will burn it, don't leave them near your scalp or you will scald yourself. Always use a hair protector, GHD do one of their own which is very good, otherwise you could damage your hair and it will break off. Don't use it on damp hair and if your hair is thick, section it to straighten, it will be easier to manage, especially on that tricky back area.
Hope that helps and good luck.

If you already dont, I would try just like geting out of the shower and trying to blow dry your hair as straigh as you can so its not super super curly (if that might help). Then you can straighen it and see if it works. Im pretty sure that it will work well. Hope this helped
