LM answered Wednesday November 8 2006, 7:26 pm: My town does that too! We have one of the best in the state of Massachusetts. Soldiers LOVE anything you send them.. it shows that you care.
here's some stuff we put in our shoeboxes:
-Chapstick
-hard candy (like Jolly Ranchers)
-gun like Trident (the kind you pop out of foil)
-CDs and DVDs (new or gently used)
-socks
-deoderant
-crosswords
-prepaid phone cards
-prestamped envelopes ( I don't know the rates off the top of my head)
-a letter. This is a big one.. troops absolutely LOVE getting these, and they almost always write back! :)
hope I helped!
p.s. make sure you don't seal the shoebox when you drop it off; they rearrange things and make sure nothing is going to melt all over everything and stuff. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
