Question Posted Wednesday November 8 2006, 5:23 pm
i saw the butterfly effect this summer on in demand and at the end he went back to when he was in his moms stomach and killed himself. well then i watched it on tv a couple weeks ago and at the end he goes back to when he was 7 and made sure he wasn't friends with kaley. and my neighbor said he saw one with another ending.
what's up with that? why don't they just have one ending, and which ending is the original one?
thanks

LM answered Wednesday November 8 2006, 8:38 pm: The ending where he died when he was born, was an alternate ending on the DVD. Both endings, though, have the same effect on Kaley's life- she moved away and went to live with her mother, because the only reason she stayed with her abusive father was because of him. Her brother, I assume, went with her and both of them escaped the horrible treatment of their father.
With the alternate ending, however, his mother ends up depressed because she lost another child, but that's implied (remember the part where he lost his arms? She took up smoking, and I think she does the same thing when she has another miscarriage) [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
