bearshare isnt that good. mine has some kind of virus on it, it always says error, end program so if you want a song you have to be really fast and download it before the error comes up. so i wouldnt really reccomend it :) ]
I wouldn't recommend Bearshare. It seems to be a very bad program. It gives of viruses and spy-wear. I suggest the two following programs:
-- Ares: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
-- Limewire: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ]
no no no don't get bearshare! me and my cousins have had bad experiences with it. it gives your computer viruses, makes it slow, spyware,(not good can seriously mess your computer up) etc. limewire is GREAT! me and my cousins have had it now for about 2 years. i love it! best of all, its free, you can use it with itunes, and doesn't give you any viruses! yes it is illegal but so is bearshare but thousands of people have it and no one gets caught so don't worry. www.limewire.com
hope i helped!

I haven't had any severe problems with Bearshare. Yes, it makes your computer much slower. This is because in order for it to be free, you have to download a form of spyware, called Zango, along with it for it to work.
What I do to keep my computer from slowing down too much, is run my spyware removal program, Ad-Aware, every few days. Ad-Aware picks up Zango and deletes it for you. The next time you run Bearshare, it obviously isn't going to work since it knows that Zango isn't on your computer anymore. However, right then and there it asks if you want to download it again. Say yes, and you're good to go in 10 seconds or less.
If you do choose to use Bearshare I'd recommend you do something like that. Make sure you have some sort of virus scanner as well. It doesn't have to be a good one. I use AVG Free and it catches any viruses that I accidentally download using Bearshare. It has only happened once, so Bearshare isn't that threatening to your computer.
If you're not willing to go to all this trouble, don't get Bearshare. If it's not that big of a deal to you, go for it. :) ]
Well now bearshare is weird, and most of the songs you download cant be transferred to iTunes pluse it gives tonsss of viruses dso i dont reccomemd it. I have something called morpheus. Its really easy and it hasnt given me any viruses so i like it. you can download it at downloads.com

Well the guy who fixes my computer, he did an experiment with Bearshare. He took two laptops, installed Bearshare on one of them, and ran them both. Within half an hour, the one with Bearshare had oodles of viruses, spyware, and trojans. So because of this, I don't recommend Bearshare. Actually, I don't recommend any P2P programs, because they're illegal (for music, anyways). However, the most reliable is Limewire, since many people actaully use it for legal purposes. I dont wanna promote illegal activity here, so just be careful with what you do.
Might I suggest webjay.org, myspace music, purevolume, and borrowing friends' CD collections/buying CDs on sale? It's legal, and you can find some reallly good stuff this way too. :) ]
