is this right? or am i forever screwed??

Question Posted Saturday November 4 2006, 11:28 pm

So, to make the long story short.. My teacher did not enter in a grade for an essay I turned in, and told me I never turned it in the first place. So I have a failing grade for the class. I told her I turned it in, so she told me to just bring the paper in the next day to see it. I told her I would, but one problem.. I accidentally threw it away! I just realized it later on. And not thinking it wouldn't be entered in my grade average, and thought it was already entered in. And finding this out, I was pretty pissed about it. I told my dad to e-mail her that he saw the paper, and that he accidentally threw it away. But instead he told her he saw the paper, but said I could turn it in, after I TOLD HIM that it was thrown away accidentally by me. So my teacher told him there would be a sub the next day. He told me that when the teacher comes back, to tell her I already put the paper on her desk even though I didn't, just to pretend I really did turn it in. I told my dad he should of stuck with my idea of him saying he threw it away but my parents are saying just to keep the plan that we are going with now and tell the teacher you put it on her desk the other day.

I REALLY want this grade to be entered in, so I don't fail, but then again I don't wanna lie to a teacher because of the fear of getting caught. I don't wanna go back to it and tell her this whole time it was accidentally thrown away. What should I do?

And PLEASE don't tell me I should of kept the essay in the first place. I know what I did wrong here, and I learned from the mistake.

Thanks for your time in reading this and helping out!

The ol' trick of putting it on the desk when a sub was there is one of the best ways to get out of it. Come on, every once in a while we've gotta lie to our teachers! And, having your dad say you can do it...doesnt make it as bad, because, your DAD said you could. Make sure you don't tell her you handed it in to the sub during class, because fellow students could say you didnt, so stay after class and tell her. And,if she talks to you about it during class, just tell her you'd like to talk about it after class. No worries, the plan should work. Hope i helped! Good luck!

there are 2 choices. You do as your parents say or. Well, do you remeber what you had to right about? If you never turned it in then she doesn't know exactally what you wrote so you can rewrite it.

Lying to a teacher is a rite of passage. If you really did turn it in, then it might turn up somewhere. Is it saved anywhere on your computer? Or try doing it over again, if possible.
