Okay I do have many skills with acting I have always wanted to goto disney, nick, cartoon network. But I am currently in Houston tx. So if I want this career will hiring a agent get me any where?

Hiring a Texas agent will be pointless because you'd spend thousands of dollars on travel. If you're serious, come out to Burbank now. [ Igotamonopoly's advice column | Ask Igotamonopoly A Question ]

Some make it, some don't. You just have to be extremely lucky to be in the right place at the right time, and have that certain.. flare they're looking for.
There's many famous people from Texas, though. Usher, Beyonce, I believe, Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, it can go on. So maybe if you do some research and see what agency they've worked for, you can try and get in with theirs, because their agencies have obviously helped them out.
But if you want to get real jobs, and try and get better noticed, you'd have to go from Houston out to LA or somewhere from time to time. I don't know if there's many acting jobs out in Houston, but who knows.
Like I said, just try researching behind all the actors and actresses in Texas and find out all the agencies they've worked for, see if they're any good and if you approve of them, and then hire an agent.
