What should I start doing right now. Okay right now I am 17 in high school. And I would like to become a news anchor where should I start. I mean I make the announcements for my school sometimes and it feels good doing it. I also was thinking when I do get to college that I should goto a community college and then transfer to a university do you think I should do that.

You need a major in communications or boradcast journalism. Anchors work their way up from writing and stuff most of the time, and so you need to be well qualified. If you are not a really good reader or your voice is not the clearest in all the land, you may have a problem. Potential employers won't know that you graduated from a community college because it only matters where you graduate from. ]
I'd suggest talking to your counselor about what kind of college is best for you.
A journalism major would definitely be an advantage to you.
As for where to start? Keep doing the announcements. Also, does your school/town have their own TV station? You could work on that, and build up your confidence on camera.
Lots of charisma and good hairstyles won't hurt either. :]
hope I helped! ]
Hey!
Congratulations on being able to find what you want to do with your life! Some people sometimes don't figure that out until it is too late.
I suggest that you talk to your school counselor about what classes you want to take next year (if you are a junior).. or if you are a senior.. ask what community college would be the best to go to to become a news anchor. High School Counselors usually know this type of information, so it would be wise to ask them.
Good luck with your career choice!
