How do I start talking to him?
I'm a 15 year old freshman female. I like this guy who sits next to me in one of my classes and he talks to me sometimes, usually asking for help on a math problem. How do I initiate conversation? What should I say? He sort of intimidates me, so I'm shy around him.

Dont be shy or intinidated around him, just be yourself. You could try asking him before class or during free-time in class what he did last weekend or what hes doing this weekend. You could start by asking him if he could help you with a problem, and while hes helping,.. start up a converstation.. OR while he is asking you a question about math you could start up a converstation.. when asking a question is the best time to start one up, because you have their full attation (atleast usually)

You could also try complimenting him, letting him know you like his shirt, or something.. that makes guys feel good about themselves.

well dont talk during class, because then you'll get in trouble, and be embarassed.
just ask him a question, like what did you do this weekend before class starts. if he intimidates you, you could say i like your shirt.
