period or cherry popped?

Question Posted Sunday October 29 2006, 5:57 pm

okay way back in the beggining of july this year, i found a quarter sized drop of brownish/reddish blood. i remember that before i noticed the blood, i had cramps and it was hard to stay still and it would only feel better if a moved a lot and i kept feeling like i had to go to the bathroom sooo bad, and then i didnt even need to go. i havent found any blood since and its now almost halloween. was that my period or did i pop my cherry? i dont remember if i was being active that day when i found the blood, but i play soccer and run a lot.

Unless something went inside you and caused you pain on the day, chances are the blood is your period. The cramps you mentioned are a big sign - girls normally get cramps (ranging from barely anything to quite bad) during their period, or in the time leading up to their period.

I don't know what the needing to go to the bathroom issue is, honestly, though if you regularly experience this you should see a doctor because you might have a minor infection and need to be treated. (Like a bladder infection, for example.)

It is normal to have slight spotting of blood and then nothing again for months - your period will probably be very irregular for the first couple of years. If you have concerns, speak to a doctor.

One thing you can do is start to carry around a pad in your bag; this means that if your period comes unexpectedly, you are prepared to deal with it.

If you feel healthy and this blood this was a one off occurance, it probably was period-related. Try to relax and let nature run its course - and if you don't have a repeat of your period within the next few months, you might want to speak to your doctor.

Best of luck.

pop you cherry means you had sex, the very first time so it could have been your period

the same thing happened to me about 5 years ago. i never knew what it was either, but now im assuming i had popped my cherry, because i've had sex many times & never bled.
the day it happened though, i asked my mom & she said it was a sign that i was going to start my period, but i never did for almost a year.

so you can't really tell, but it's nothing to panic over, pinky promise. ;)

Well, when you first get your period its very irregular. I think that it was your first period, just by what you said. So, just give yourself a few more months and you should get your period again. For like the first year or so, your period is irregular.

Playing soccer and running alot can pop your cherry, but very rarely. Same as riding a horse and everything, because I used to play soccer and I've ridden horses myself, and nothing's ever happened to me. And if unless you've had sex, then your cherry probably didn't pop.

It sounds to me like you just had your period because cramps can usually come before the period actually gets there for girls. I know whenever I have my period I always feel like I have to go to the bathroom too, when in reality, I really don't.

So it was probably just your period. :)

I would suggest to mark your period down so then if it happens again and again monthly, then you'll really know it's just your period.

I hope I helped.
