Guys at School

Question Posted Friday October 27 2006, 5:00 am

13/f.Hey everyone! Well, this year I'm in 8th grade. Last year in 7th grade, I got sooooo nervous talking to guys. This year, I'm a lot more relaxed talking to guys and loving it! They are so funny and nice. Well, the only problem is, they don't always like talking to me. How can I try to be nice to guys and make them want to actually talk to me? I really need help with this. thanks!

Very simple. All you have to do is be yourself. Guys can tell when your forcing your personality, so just be really natural about it. To strike up a conversation ask something simple like " Did you understand the homework last night?", or "I really like that shirt; is it from Polo?" Something like that. This will allow you to segway into more in-dept conversations. Don't try to talk about things you don't know--but you can say something like "How's football going?--I really don't understand the game, maybe you can explain stuff to me" This way, you bring up something you know they are interested in but aren't acting like you know something and they'll want to explain something they are passionate about. But remember, the key is to just be you and don't ramble! :)
