fake cutter
so my one "friend" pretends to cut herself.then she makes a big deal out of it when people ask to see her arms,implying that she cuts.she doesnt.she just wants people to feel bad for her.and she tells EVERYONE.from the people i know that have cut,they dont like people to know.its just really annoying because she gets all the attention for something that isnt even true.she makes tiny little marks on her arms with like paper.and then when i say that she doesnt,she gets all mad at me and says what a horrible friend i am.im not trying to be mean,but it just bugs me.how can i get her to stop being so annoying about it.oh,and another thing,whenever we get in fights,she always goes and says that she has to go because shes gonna go cut herself.how can i get her to stop?
please i need help asap.thanks.

As a recovering cutter...I cant stand people who do that crap...But really if she wants the attention let her have it and when sum1 goes and tells her parents and they but her in a correctional facitality for teens she'll think twice about the attention. The way I see it if she wants attention so bad she should be put in therapy cus thats just pathetic. Sooner or later every1 will see she is a complete total fake and they wont want anything to do wit her. That just kills me cus there really are people out there who have miserable lifes and really dont wanna live.

She wants the attention, then let her have it. In fact, tell her parents and see what they will do, see if she really enjoys having all that attention when her parents come clammering down on her and send her off for therapy.
It's ridiculous. I will bet she has nothing true to be upset over. She is crying out for attention and she is getting it. However, in the end I gaurantee you she will be friendless and broken mentally. Are you being a bad friend for speaking up saying she doesn't really have any cuts to show? Absolutely not, in fact your being more of a friend by trying to stop all the attention from getting to her.
Quite frankly though, if she wants the attention, let her have it, but tell her in the end she will end up broken and friendless. And for the record, I hate people who pose themselves like that for attention. If it was me in the situation, I would have exposed her so fast....

well oviusly your friend is crying out for attention. Maybe she feels a like of attention. But tell her that its anoying and she needs to grow up, and if she thinks your horrible so be it. Or tell her parents, they will give her counciling, because ovisly she needs attention so give it to her.

Omigosh! I Have A Friend Just Like That.. She Thinks She's Sooo Emo, And Pretends To Cut, Her Myspace Is Filled With Icons About Suicide And Cutting, But If You Really Knew Her In Real Life She Has Nothing To Be Upset About.. Her Life Is Perfect.. She Acts Like She Listens To My Music But I Was Looking Through Her CD's And All I Saw Was 50 Cent And Shit Like That, I Called Her A Poser, And Told Her That She's Just looking For Attention, And One Day Someone Is Gonna Put In A Mental Hospital, Is That What You Want?, For People To Look At You Like You're Sick And Twisted?, Because I Go Throught The Whole, OMG, She Wears Black She Must Be A Troubled Teen, So Don't Give Me This "My Life Sucks Soo Bad, I MUST Cut!!" I Told Her All Of That And The Next Day All Of Her Little Icons And Shit Were Gone And She Stopped Talking Like She Was Gonna Kill Herself.. I Guess It Workss Lol..

It sounds like your friend is clamboring for attention. Is there something bugging her? A sick mom? A dad in Iraq? You should talk to your school counselor with her. Try to figure out what is really going on. Does her mom knows that she is faking cutting herself? One day, she might really cut herself. Like I said, talk to someone close to you to try to figure it out.
