i just started to play the guitar & i would really like some advice on some easy & simple things to learn. or some basics that i will need to know.

playing for a while but now songs are becomming harder to learn because free tabs are not as easy to find but tabs are easy to read
Lessons help a lot too if you can get a good teacher
try learning (smoke on the water: deep purple, crazy train: ozzy, welcome home(Sanitarium):metallica)
Most oldies or 70's/80's rock
also learn scales and chords
find some people that play around you to get tabs or u can ask me for some at my e-mail and i will teach you how to read them too if you don't know

I've recently started taking up the guitar too, and I've found that Green Day songs aren't really that hard to play. Mostly the bass tabs are the easiest part, and it doesn't even matter if you're not learning bass, because it just helps you recognize the nots first of all, and helps you move around quicker, until you're able to learn chords and play at a faster rate. The White Stripes "7th Nation Army" is also a pretty easy song play. But if I were you, if you really want to learn well and get to the first basics, I suggest taking up guitar lessons cause they'll be able to help you out alot better, or at least have a friend who can play guitar also help you out with chords and everything, and sooner or later play songs with you ( that's what me and my friend do ). melbays guitar methods is a great book if you want to start playing guitar, I learned everything from that book and im good at guitar already
