My name is Catherine, I'll be 15 soon. I have been a member of this site for about 2 and a half years. I love giving advice, and love helping people. My answers are honest, and I try my best not to give harsh answers. I know other columnists can be rude sometimes, I'm not like that. My friends are my life, and I do everything I can to help them when they ask for my advice or help. I'm not close to my mom or dad. As for hair, I think you should make it shorter. I can see you have a lot of layers, but without the long ones you would look awesome. But you are really pretty either way. Your eyes should be accented more. Use a brown or black mascara with eyeliner (color depending on mascara).
my face is really oily, even though I wash it twice a day!!!
is there any kind of lotion or anything to keep it from being oily??

im trying to learn how to play guitar by myself.
how do you use the website ultimate-guitar.com to learn songs i dont know how to read the things can anyone explain to me really clearly and TO THE POINT ?
Also, what is a good website for guitar tutorials and basic chords and how to play themm chords.?
To be honest, youtube has some pretty good tutorials. But they are kind of hard to see in that point of view. Go to a music store and buy Melbay's Guitar Methods. It taught me the basics fast and easy.

The first note would be the 3rd fret on the G string, and it would repeat (the second note). The third note would be no fingers on the string, the fourth would be the same as the first, and so on. I can't really explain chords, but when they are together, like in the example, that means you hold them down at the same time. The tempo or rhythm of the song can't really be expressed on tabs, so you have to know it on your own. (Listening to the song helps understand the music, and you can match up the chords or notes with the actual song).

To be honest, at your age chances are you don't know what love is.
If you're getting mixed signals, clear them up and confront the guy about it and ask. There's no harm if he says he doesn't like you because life does go on and there are plenty of fish in the sea. And if he says he likes you, then that's a good thing on your part but you shouldn't go out until the whole "ex-bestfriend recently breaking up with her boyfriend" situation blows over.

Aussie VOLUME shampoo and conditioner works well. If you want the extra volume, blow dry it and don't air dry. =)

i just started a new semester with all new teachers from last semester and i want all my teachers to like me, and they basically do. but there's this one teacher i feel like i can relate to better than the other ones. probably because shes younger-ishhh.. and i don't know what i should do to get her to like me. because i am going through some hard stuff right now with my family and sometimes i just need someone to listen. i've already kind of confided in her but now it's like weird.. i dont know how to explain it. i know i can't expect teachers to be personal counselors but maybe just a friend. anything i could do to get her to like me?

I'm the same way with 2 of my teachers. I met one at an after school program, and that's where we started talking and stuff. Stay after school or something and talk to them. Talk about school and things you are interested in. After I began talking to the other teacher, I found out we had a lot more in common than I thought. So yeah, just have a chat with her once in a while.
Okay. So this probably sounds really dumb or lame but I’m worried... but okay.
Me and my boyfriend went to this party, and I ended sleeping over, as did he, so we shared a bed. I stayed fully clothed, well he was just in his boxers. We were kissing alot, and eventually he was on top of me (i was still fully clothes, and he was still in his boxers)..he was pressing up against me, and I don't know he came or not. Is it possible if he did, to get pregnant? I’m suppose to get my period around tomorrow or so and my breasts feel tender and hurting, which is how I can usually tell when I get my period, but could worrying about this change when I’ll get my period, can my body play tricks?

It usually refers to pornography. Idk if you have ever watched it, but it usually says something like 'hardcore xxx action'. It's a very sexual notation, and not a very good thing to be showing in your screen name, people could get the wrong impression and think your friend is a whore or something.

Whenever I'm with my friends or when I kiss my boyfriend once.. I get nasty comments. I don't understand it. One girl kept saying that leads to.. this! -points to her baby-
It's making me angry because I'm not stupid. She's the one who slept around and didn't use protection.
My friends went through my camera and saw a picture of me in a bra. They screamed in an over reacting way. Yelling /keep your clothes on/ and stuff. "Don't do anything stupid".. when she has done drugs and had sex numerous times. she made herself seem all superior and well, it pissed me off :)

They are trying to protect you, and there's nothing wrong with that. But yelling at you in public is wrong. If they don't see that they are making you look like a slut, and make you look like you are something you are not, then they have serious issues. Sometimes friends do what they have to to make sure a friend doesn't make the same mistake they do. I know I would do that to make sure my best friends don't ruin there lives. You should just say that you know they are trying to protect you, but acting immature and rude every time I kiss my boyfriend, won't work, and won't do anything.
Your friends might have trust problems too. Sometimes people do that when they don't trust the fact that you SAY you aren't doing something. If they are truely good friends they will trust you and your word that you aren't doing anything. They just need to calm down a bit.

My mom doesnt live with me and my dad.
He blames everything on me.
He calls me everything in the book.
Uses the word fuck in every sentence.
Calls me worthless piece of shit, little fuck, bitch, bastard, remarked about braces and he said fuck your teeth, says "I'm getting sick of you", "go live with your mom".
He accuses my mom of EVERYTHING.
He says that people break into our houses, just to justify that he's better than my mom.
He apologizes, but it's getting to be worthless sorries. I get it all the time.
He's stubborn and he won't listen to anyone.
He's over protective.
I'm getting sick of it. I mean I can take it.
I've been taking it, but sometimes I want to just run away to friends houses just to get away from all the shit.

Well you have many choices. Let your mom know about what's going on, and how you feel. I'm not sure your dad will go to jail, but you and your mom could get a restraining order on him under certain accounts. A restraining order meaning that he only gets to talk to you or see you at certain times, and possibly with only your mother present.
I deal with the same thing at home, except both my parents do it. I just stay at my grandma's, she knows both my parents are like that. So hopefully, your mom cares about you enough to take action and get you out of there.Contact a school counselor, suggest being removed from your dad, and let them know that you would rather live with your mom.
No one deserves to be treated like that. Your dad might have serious mental problems that he needs to take care of. Until then, just get out of there and live with your mom.

It is totally anonymous. And only the person can see it. If they want to know who you are, they can message you, and still not know who you are. There's this messaging thing on Honesty Box. So yeah, only the person that you said it to will see it, and they won't know who you are unless you tell them.
okay so this is my first year cheerleading and im in 8th grade. yeah i think i started late but thats not the point. i joined it because i've always wanted to do cheerleading and people that i know are on my squad. then as a few monthes pasted, one of my good friends was online and asked, "should i do cheer?" i said yes in a heartbeat. shes doing it now. but now idk what im gunna do bc now she has this big problem with me and ive said im sorry and everything. idk how im gunna do cheer with her "hating" me. how will i do this? it's my first year, im so worried. please help me!!!
Every [girl's most likely] sport team deals with this within itself at one point. Whatever you do, don't let the drama get between how well you do. Don't lose focus. Ssve the drama for home is what my coach says. And she's right. Drama can get in the way. You have to understand is that not everyone on your team is going to like you. Trust me, on my team I know there are girls that don't like me. I'm okay with that because I don't care. There are other girls on the team that I can hang out with. If your friend is really giving you this much trouble, just leave her alone, give her time to cool off, and hang out with other girls that you like or get along with. When your friend finally vents it all out, she'll stop acting like that.
So yeah, just stay focused on your cheer, and until it blows over, chill with other girls.

A while back i "heard" my parents in their bedroom and can't get over it. I've talked to them about it but still can't. I'm ALWAYS afraid I'll hear them agian so I'm always stressed.
Also you know when there are love scenes in movies and they start doin it I get mad and think that because my mom and dad watched that they will later and it just bugs me SOOO much that my parents do it. Those scences make me feel really uncomfortable and makes me more stressed, sometimes even when people are makin out it makes me feel that way.
This will sound gross but when those scenes come on I get like a heart-beat or something down around my vigina and it doesn't stop unless I rub it...I get discusted with myself.

Well, I don't know if you were brought up in a house that looks down upon that kind of thing. Your parents are just trying to get you to understand that it's something everyone does at some point in their life, and it's completely normal. I would be scared too if i heard my parents doing it. But it's a good sign, it shows they still love each other. Maybe they're trying to have more children. Don't worry, I used to be the same way. Whenever my brother's brought up sex for whatever reason, or I was watching a movie and there was a scene like that I would usually leave the room, or make up some excuse. I'm still a little uncomfortable in certain circumstances. But sooner or later you have to realize that it's absolutely normal. You are a teenager, you are growing, not sure of your feelings, why you feel like that, or what to do about those feelings.
My point is, don't feel disgusted because of how you feel, because everyone gets that feeling. All you have to do is let nature be nature.
What you have isn't entirely stress, your mind isn't mature as it should be, and you aren't used to the fact that sex is normal, and it's okay to feel like that.
Okay, so, a week ago, my boyfriend and I messed around... a lot. Although we didn't have sex and we were careful about everything, something happened that made him worry.
He came kind of on my stomach and it dripped down and kind of went down there. I wasn't worried because first of all, I was wearing a tampon, and second of all, I was on my period, so I didn't think anything could happen. Plus, I don't think you can get pregnant just by having cum in that area.
But he was all freaked out. And NOW, I've been having this brown discharge (I asked a question about it yesterday), and on a site, it said that brown discharge could be a sign of early pregnancy.

You're not pregnant. The sperm needs fluid to live, and you can't get pregnant during your period. So don't worry about it.

last year i was in my first school play. I got a solo because the teacher saw me singing with a few of my friends and she liked my voice. singing with friends helps build confidence. When its time to perform just look someone you know and are comfortable singing with in the eye and forget about everyone else around you. Trust me, knowing you're around friends really help. sometimes if you think you are just at home practicing helps because it relaxes you. and if you have butterflies, have a good laugh before you go on. it releases stress and makes you more relaxed
