Yeast infection?

Question Posted Monday October 2 2006, 9:03 pm

Has anybody here ever had a yeast infection? I'm afraid that I might... I'm 17 and I haven't ever experienced one. I have a very small, round bump on my vulva (imagine what a really round pimple feels like). It feels a little sore but I think that's because it started out as a little cut. Might it just be an infected cut? I don't want to do anything without being sure... and I absolutely am terrified of hospitals and I'm not too interested in telling parentals anyway. So... advice? Thoughts?

Umm DEFENTLY NOT A YEAST INFECTION ... Im sorry but i can promose you its not a yeast infection I had the EXACT same thing and its really supper itchy yeah i cant remember what its called cause it was a while ago but you get a prescription and they give u these pills and this cream witch helps so much and they dont make you take your pants off they just make you pee in a cup and they call you like 3 days later saying your prescription is at the drug store and you just go and pick it up .. i was so worried about having to like take my pants off at the doctors and having to let her literally look but all i did was walked into the washroom and i was gone . so you really should go get that cream .. you be so glad you did :) i Really hope i helped .. and So far it hasnt come back for me :D goood luck !

I've had a yeast infection before. I was younger, but from what I can remember, it doesn't sound like that's what's wrong with you. I'm pretty sure the "round pimple" symptom is not a sign of a yeast infection. You say you aren't to apt to telling your parents, but unless someone else gives you a better and more accurate answer than I do, you may have to. I honestly can't think of anything that it could be besides an STD and i'm not really wanting to go as far as telling you that's what it is.

Go get it checked out, you may not want to, but in the end it's the best thing you can do.

The symptoms you are describing are not those of a yeast infection. If you have been sexually active, you need to see a Dr. for diagnosis and treatment. The best advice is to tell your parents you haven't been feeling well and want to see the Dr. At 17 you don't have to go into detail, just tell them it's personal.

You don't have a yeast infection. It sounds like you just have an infected cut or pimple. Don't worry about it unless it doesn't start to get better and go away in a few days. Good luck! :)

If you are sure it is a yeast infection then pop down to the local pharmicist and ask for advice. They will be able to tell what cream to use or whether you need to see someone else. However, I suggest that you make yourself an appointment at the doctors just to be on the safe side. Your parents do not need to know and the doctor certainly won't tell them.

Yeast infections can be quite a common problem for lots of ladies, but they are easily cured with the right medication/cream. All the best.
