my mom is a freaking loser!!!!!! when i go shopping she makes me buy theres freakishly large sizes!!!! im only 110 pounds and 14 and a girl and im 5`3 so i thought i would fit into an extra small shirt since thats what the lady working at abercrombie and fitch said i should try! i tried it and it fit great and there was even a little extra room so if i gained a few more pounds I could still wear it and my mom started screaming at me in front of everyone in the store and made be buy a large and i looked like a goon wearing it because im nowhere near a large!!! and then i was looking at the skirts i tried on a 1 and i was like mom can i get this she said what size is it and i said 1 and i said and it fits me see and look its even a little big and she started screaming at me again and made me buy a 4 and do you know how big a 4 was on me!!!?? i wore it to school the next day and i got atleast 20 comments about how big the skirt was on me and i spent the whole day pulling it up and then the skirt fell off me when i stood up in social studies class and there i was standing there in my underwear and i cried!! and yesterday i bought a pair of sweatpants at hollister and they ran in xs,s,m,l, & xl and my mom was making me buy a large and she and the lady working at hollister got in a fight because the lady working at hollister said i wont be able to fit into that and my mom was screaming at her so i went in the dressing room and tried it on and it was so huge for me and i rolled it over 4 times and it was still loose but my mom said i will get tons of use out of it and i will never grow out of it!! but ill never grow into it either! i cant stand it all my friends come over they look through my closet and see all these larges and size 7 jeans when im super skinny. they think im trying to be fat and make fun of fat people... my moms a maniac and it gets me so mad that once i called her a whore because it just slipped out because shes so stubborn. and if i buy my own clothes without her there she says theres no way im keeping them because she says they are "too small" .. i cant stand her i just feel like punching her she gets me soooo angry. my moms a mad woman what the hell do i do??? and do you think shes being unfair and retarted? because i do!

Wow that's crazy! If my mom were like that, I don't know what I'd do. I do think she's being unfair and also super controlling. She won't let you be yourself. She's trying to mold you into something ur not. I think your mom needs to open her eyes and realize your not a doll that she can dress up. Youre14 girl and you have the right to wear what u feel comfortable in. But I don't think your mom is retarded, give her some credit. She probably doesn't want to see you looking like one of those hoochies that wear clothes way too small for them. She probably doesn't want to see you grow up into a young women maybe that's why she does that. Well anyways I wish you luck!

OMG!i so agree.you have to take a stand and say "mom i am not going to wear any of this!it is way to BIG on me!what the heck do you think i am fat or something?" that is what i would do if i were in your situation.&& if that doesn't work i would have all my family buy my some clothes that are my size and hide them or go to the mall with your friends and buy some small clothes.&& just wear a really BIG hoodie over them when you are leaving so your mom doesn't see the clothes.i hope my advice works!;]

Maybe she's jealous that your skinny or something because she wasn't when she was your age.
She probably just doesn't want your clothes too tight and all that crap.
So, she's like my mom. Except my mom isn't so bad. My mom just makes me get ONE size bigger.
The spaz is wasting her money. You really need to talk to her. Whenever you see her, say, "Look. Mom, I'm not going to wear this stuff. All you're doing is wasting your money. Why won't you let me wear normal sized clothes instead of making them so big that my pants fall down as soon as I stand up?!"
Or you can go shopping at the mall with some of your friends. Just ask your DAD for some money and go! If you don't want your mom to freak out about the clothes you get, buy a nice jacket while your there to wear over it until you get to school.
You can always talk to your dad about it if that other stuff doesn't work.

she probably doesn't want you too show off too much skin so she makes you buy the bigger sizes because they are longer, my friends mom does that too but she only makes her go up a size or two. Just be like "mom, if you don't want me showing skin then let me buy clothes that fit me because when its big it just falls off anyways so whats the point of wearing clothes to school, I might as well wear my underwear to school." just try to reason with her or if you can't. buy clothes behind her back and then wear the clothes she gets you for school and change in the bathroom before school starts and then change out of it after school. I know this sounds wrong but if my mother made me buy stuff that was too big on me i would die. i feel sorry for you.

maybe your mom feels uncomfotable when you wear small clothes, but you should seriously sit down with your mom and talk about this, she doesnt need to be controlling what size of clothes your wearing expecialy if they dont fit

Ive heard of and experienced my fair share of irrational behavior, but that is by far the worst Ive seen in years. Im going to take on faith that you are not exaggerating, because I normally dont suggest going against your parents like Im about to.
To be honest, there is no way to reason with her. You cant explain why you are right to a person who thinks youre wrong and refuses to consider any other points of view but their own.
The only thing you can do is set your heels and refuse to give in. Do not try on anything in a size she tells you to. Do not even agree to go shopping with her unless she allows you to pick your own clothes. Do not wear anything that is too big for you. Basically, your only option is a complete refusal to cooperate, because if you do anything she says in this regard, its like babying a 3 year old. They learn that if they cry, they get what they want.
Another option, is look for resale shops. I dont know where you live, but we have places here where you can sell clothes you dont need/want. Sometimes for just 3-5 dollars, but if you have a closet full, you can turn it into enough money to buy a fair number of clothes in your size, assuming you are frugal and dont go buy designer clothes. You wont be able to afford whatevers trendy, but off brand stuff that fits looks better than what you have now.
Lastly, master your temper. You are in the right, and your mother is going to yell, she is going to be angry, and you have to weather the storm and be able to just look back at her. If you can let her yell until shes blue in the face, then calmly and quietly state that you are going to do what is in your best interest, and if she cant see that, then she doesnt get a say in what happens with you.
Oh yeah, and the whole "not keeping clothes" thing. First, if you get rid of all the clothes she buys you, she cant just get rid of what you keep, you wont have anything to wear at all. Second, keep a change of clothes or two in your locker at school. 2 bottoms, and 3-5 tops if you can fit it.
