I've heard people talking about what happens before God returns. I've started reading the bible, but I haven't gotten that far where it tells you about it. I know that it says something about locusts and maybe hurricanes, but I don't know the details. If any of you have read it, what does it say happens?
I don't know exactly where it says this, but i talk to my mom about what's going on in the world today. *hopefully i'm recalling our conversations correctly* but she says that the Bible states that nations will turn against nations, everyone will turn their back on Israel, and there will be chaos.and that's whats beginning to happen. so many different places are at war with eachother and Israel is getting so much of it. ComplicatedParadise answered Monday October 16 2006, 9:24 am: There will be a second comming, it is for the future, Jesus took his apostle John and showed him what the near future would look like. For the day or hour we do not know, as in the bible it states that no one will ever know the day in which christ is comming again to save this world and save those who believe in him from hell. Jesus didnt say that the apostles would see it, you never ever know when. But there are signs in the bible as to when its getting close, and from my reading i think its comming closer, God doesnt know time, to him a thousand years is like a blink of an eye, and it states that in the bible too. It says there will be numerous things happening in parts of the earth that we simply think is just nature, but its God wrath overcomming this earth, like the hurricanes we have had, earthquakes, etc. Also you should read Countdown to Jerusalem by John Hagee, it tells about the war on terroism and how islam wants to wipe israel(gods chosen people) off the face of the earth, and god said anyone who messes with israel will not enter the kingdom of heaven, god said he will destroy them, and the people who are helping to destroy are russia as well. Islam also hates america, and it has been said they have been planning nuclear weapons for the past 20 years, and have just now started the process in making them, it also in the book talks about electromagnectic blankets, which they are working on now to send to america and it would shut off everything, all electricity, no cars would run, no would could communicate, no refrigerators or anything. You should read it, scary, but true, Gods word is everlasting and ever true. Those who go against it are destined for the lake of fire. Wheeler answered Thursday September 28 2006, 6:37 pm: I'm catholic at the back of the bible the last chapter it's something that starts with R. Revolution or something. That chapter will explain everything about how our world is going to end - it's when god will come down to earth. It explains the devil and what heaven supposedly looks like. Read it, it's the last chapter. I'm sorry for my lack of remembrance! [ Wheeler's advice column | Ask Wheeler A Question ]
MissBonne answered Wednesday September 20 2006, 5:41 am: The New Testament gives the details. Start with 1 Thess 4:16 & 17
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [ MissBonne's advice column | Ask MissBonne A Question ]

sizzlinmandolin answered Tuesday September 19 2006, 4:00 pm: BitsAndPieces answer is very good. I'd like to add that there is a series of novels called "Left Behind" that goes through what those times might be like. It's not fact, but it gives a very good rendition about what those times might be like. There's also a kids series that's very good too. That's actually the one I read. :)
BitsandPieces answered Tuesday September 19 2006, 1:02 pm: Wow, that is a huge question and widely debated even by biblical scholars. Many different churches have varying views on what and when and where anything like that takes place. The book of Revelations discusses in seemingly metaphorical form, many prophecies concering the return of the Christ, judgement of sin, and Satan being thrown into an eternal fire.
There are many signs to come, before the return of the Christ, but these also can be interpreted differently. Some predict many wars, wild weather changes, natural disasters, and vast disease. Some say that the world will see many false prophets and even the anti-Christ will come to deceive the masses and rule the Earth for a time. The Rapture is a biggie, also. That is when Christ comes and takes his followers with him to Heaven. No one can know for certain anything that requires faith. Faith is about believing what is not known or evidenced, except by the heart.
There is no reason for those who love God to fear the coming return of Christ or even judgement. God is defined as Love itself in the Bible, and Christ is defined as the way, the truth, and the life, sent by God to save the world. That is pretty awesome stuff in itself, and if that is your faith, you should not have to worry about the rest. [ BitsandPieces's advice column | Ask BitsandPieces A Question ]
